Eon Productions, released a statement on saturday evening, 13 december, where it was learned that an early version of the 24th Bond film SPECTRE screenplay was amongst the stolen material leaked through the hacker attack on Sony Pictures this week.
In a world of international crisis, civil war, terror, injustice and racial intolerance such a matter may be regarded as a trifle. Understandably so.
However, distribution of this material is both illegal an unetchical. Bond film production company Eon Productions said in thier statement that they would take legal actions against anyone who distributed this stolen material.
The Bond fan community has reacted in various ways, although most of us share the same opinion, effectively comminicated by several Bond fan page editors today. I would like to join in on their statement and urge everyone in Bond community and media press to refrain from publishing material from this stolen SPECTRE screenplay. It is important to respect the work of the filmmakers, the cast and the large crew. Surely everyone want a spoiler free period before SPECTRE opens in november 2015 but the economic risk is far greater for the production companies and mostly individuals of all trades contributing to the Bond franchise.
I will certainly not publish any of this material and state like my fellow Bond fan page editors:
“we refuse to comment on the content and nature of the above mentioned informations, to divulge this content in any form or respond to any queries regarding to it.”
